It's been a busy month for Kate Middleton and Prince William so far, with a visit to Wales, a homemade baking session and an appearance at the Commonwealth Day service – not to mention their upcoming overseas trip to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. But, amidst all the busy royal engagements, it seems the pair still find a spare moment to spend some quality time with the family, and this week a lip reader caught Kate making plans to do just that with father-in-law, Prince Charles.

The sweet moment happened during Tuesday's Commonwealth Day service, which Prince Charles attended on behalf of the Queen, who is currently taking things easy after testing positive for COVID-19 last month. At the event, he met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and according to expert lip reader, Jeremy Freeman, they made some heartwarming plans.

Per Freeman, who spoke to The Mirror, Prince Charles leaned into Kate and told her: "We are going to pop in and see you all..." It's moments like this that we're reminded the royals really are just like us – popping round to their relatives for a cup of tea, a packet of custard creams and a catch up.

Whether or not their sweet meeting will come before or after the Duke and Duchess' upcoming royal tour isn't clear, but we're pretty sure the Cambridge kids will very much be looking forward to it. Previously, Prince William has spoken about how fond the children are of their grandfather, but expressed his wish for them to spend more quality time together.

"I would like him to have more time with the children… to, you know, play around with the grandchildren," William said in an interview two years ago to mark Charles' 70th birthday, [per The Mirror]. "When he's there, he's brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible."

Sadly, Charles hasn't been able to spend much time with his other grandchildren. In fact, the future King is yet to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Lilibet, who was born in June 2021. That's not to say he isn't keen to get together with the Sussex family, and he's reportedly offered them a place to stay at his home, should they plan a visit to the UK in the near future.

Erm, anyone else desperate for a family reunion!?
