Kate Middleton called Prince William "sexy" in his military uniform, according to a lip reader who unearthed an old clip.

After going through archive footage, a lip reader revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge made a cheeky comment about the Duke whilst at an event in 2006.

Speaking on the Royal Wives documentary, the expert said she believed Kate mouthed: "I love him in uniform, he's so, so sexy." But the expert didn't reveal who Kate whispered the comment to.

Prince William was kitted out in his full military uniform as part of his RAF graduation, and several members of the Royal Family had come together to support him, including his then-girlfriend Kate, and her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

At the time of the event, Kate and William had been dating for a few years since meeting at university, and engagement rumours had started to circulate. According to onlookers at the ceremony, the future Duchess looked as regal at ever, and wore a red coat with matching hat and black boots.

Kate's attendance came as a surprise to Royal journalists, who describe the day as the moment they realised she would soon become a Royal. In a Channel 5 documentary about the couple, Royal journalist Rebecca English said: "We hadn't expected Kate and her family to turn up, and myself and a number of photographers and journalists were all standing on a press stand together."

She continued: "Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw Kate and her mother and father being ushered down to the front of the seating."

"I remember turning to the person next to me and saying that's it, it's a done deal. This woman is going to be our future Queen," English added.

Despite Royal fans and journalists alike expecting an engagement soon after, the couple split just a few months later in early 2007. But, the breakup didn't last long and the future Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got back together in 2008, and eventually married in 2011.

During his time with the RAF, Prince William learned to pilot helicopters and fixed-wing aircrafts. In 2013 he stepped down from the RAF to pursue charity work, and after leaving the Armed Forces he retrained to become an Air Ambulance Pilot and worked with the East Anglian Air Ambulance for more than two years.
