Linen Suits Are the Best Bet for Wedding Season
Weddings have snowballed into big ribbon cutting events. Gone are the days in which you turn up, eat up, and go home at a reasonable hour. The happy couple have put on a line-up on par with Glastonbury. It'll likely be in the middle of the summer. Chances are even higher that it's abroad (because, in all fairness, booze and food are cheaper and better on the continent). That means, yes, you have to turn up. But you also have to turn out in a suit that makes an effort and yet doesn't make you die of heat exhaustion. Which is where the best linen suits come in.
Once favoured by old ex-pats that talk of nothing but the ills of their ex-wife, linen suits have seen something of a renaissance. As hot weather gets hotter and menswear diversifies, brands across the gamut have renegotiated the fabric. Which, funnily enough, is one of the oldest in the world with roots as far back as 4000 BCE. Ancient Egypt was big into linen.
As should you be. The best linen suits for men are now available in cuts that are flattering for all sorts of body types. And better yet, they look (and feel) cool. Wedding season is yours for the taking, champ.

1) M&S
God bless Marks and Spencer. The most solid of British high street stalwarts have made classic wardrobe fillers for as long as most people can remember. And now, that extends to a slim fit Italian linen suit that'll last, and not cost the Earth either.

2) Wax London
A brand that's slowly become a go-to for guys that want well-made, wearable menswear, Wax London's offering includes a linen suit that has the appearance of a standard cotton two-piece, but just without the usual stuffiness in summer weather.

3) Polo Ralph Lauren
If anyone was going to make a top tier linen suit, of course it's Ralph Lauren's Polo line.

6) Albus Lumen
Some of the best linen suits are the most classic. But with Albus Lumen, it's boxier, looser and cooler, but still sharp enough to get wear next year (and the one after that, and probably the one after that too).

Jaeger's back, baby! And you can expect the same level of classic British go-tos that will fill in the gaps this summer – and that includes the tricky business of wedding season dressing.
