'Line Of Duty' team to launch new crime thriller starring Parminder Nagra
If you're looking for your next Line Of Duty fix, we have exciting news: two of the team behind the hit BBC series are making a crime thriller for ITV.
Maya Sondhi, who starred as PC Maneet Bindra, has written and created DI Ray, a four-part drama produced by LOD creator Jed Mercurio and starring Bend It Like Beckham's Parminder Nagra.

She will star as Leicester-born DI Rachita Ray, who is working for the police force in Birmingham, in the show, which tackles issues of race.
Ray is assigned to a homicide case that appears to be the promotion she has been waiting for, but when she sees that it is classified as a "culturally specific homicide", she is concerned that she is a token appointment.
Determined to prove herself in the investigation, Ray tackles her colleagues' biases as well as searching for the truth, but it stirs up an internal conflict that she had been burying about her British identity and South Asian heritage.
Screenwriter Sondhi said: “This is a project which is deeply personal for me as a British Asian Brummie woman. It’s only in the past 10 years or so I’ve really been able to truly embrace my heritage.
"So much of this show is my story and in telling it honestly, I hope others from all different backgrounds will relate."

Fans of LOD are still eagerly awaiting news of whether there will be a series seven for the police procedural, but creator Mercurio has refused to be drawn on the subject.
He recently accused a reporter of "generating clickbait" for asking whether the show would return to TV in the future.
