One of the best things about Line Of Duty is watching the theories unfold online during each episode. First came speculation that DS Buckells is connected to Dot Cotton thanks to the golf clubs in his office. Then the rumours that 'H' might not actually be linked to a name.
And now fans are wondering whether there's a direct connection between John Corbett, who was played by Stephen Graham in series five, and Joanne Davidson, thanks to a specific photo in the new cast member's house.
In case you need a recap, DCI Joanne Davidson (played by Kelly Macdonald) has taken centre stage in the sixth series, thanks to her suspicious conduct in Gail Vella's murder case.
One particular scene has caught fans attention, after Joanne threw a wine glass at her sideboard, which had a family photo on the top. Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted similarities between the older woman in the photo and John Corbett's - the undercover officer involved in the OCG in series five - birth mother, Anne-Marie McGillis.
"So when I was watching @Line_of_duty as soon as I saw this picture I immediately thought of Anne-Marie McGillis?! SURELY?! Can I join AC-12 now pls? #lineofdutyday #LineofDuty," one fan noted.
Another wrote, "Also #LineOfDuty fans! Anyone else notice the woman in the picture is the spit of Anne Marie (Johns mum S5) who had a thing with Ted back in Ireland ... could DCI Davidson be Teds?! Could Ted be H!"
Someone else added, "Wonder is John Corbett and Joanne Davidson are related? That photo she lobbed her glass at, looked a lot like Anne-Marie Mcgillis! #LineOfDuty."
Does that mean Joanne and John are siblings? How that would impact her involvement in organised crime? Is she undercover? So many questions, but one thing is for sure: the twists will keep on coming.
