In an exclusive chat with OK! Martin revealed he splits his time between the States and Scotland which at times can be tough.

“I'm very lucky to have a home in Vegas where my wife is from - but I've still got my place in Greenock. I actually spend most of my time here. My last four jobs have been in Scotland.

"Travelling for work, especially with a show like this where we'll be on the road from five or six in the morning can be difficult.

"Especially now that we've got the wee one [his son], it's hard on him if we travel a lot. Even if my wife and son were to travel with me for this show, for example, I don't get to see them much anyway. It can be tough but I'm also under no illusions of how lucky I am to be in this job."

Line of Duty ended in 2021 with the mysterious and dangerous ‘H’ being identified after years of investigation, but in a recent interview Martin teased the show’s possible return.

“There’s no immediate plans,” he says, laughing. “But the guys are some of my best friends, I’m always on the phone with Vicky [McClure] actually. We all catch up weekly if not daily at times. I think it’s just getting us all together – that’s one of the drawbacks but also major pluses of having a successful show. We’re all doing different stuff and Jed [Mercurio] is a man in demand for other TV shows.”
