We know we’re deep into the ski season when we start seeing regular posts by Lindsey Vonn from her sessions on the slopes. The former professional alpine skier, who usually is jet-setting around the country from event to event, seems settled in Colorado for the time being, making the most of the snow.
Her latest post from a sunny day of skiing featured the 39-year-old’s classic bright white and mint ski gear, which she took for an early morning spin on the beautiful slopes. In the photo, Vonn takes a break from her impressive downhill skiing to smile for the camera, clearly overjoyed to be back on the mountain.
“Rise and shine!! ☀️,” Vonn exclaimed in her Instagram post. “let’s get after it today 💪🏻.”
The regular skiing content has given some fans the impression that Vonn has overcome her series of knee injuries—those that forced her to retire in 2019. She took to her story to set the record straight. “Oh I have plenty of knee problems but I work hard in the gym so I can still do the things that make me happy… like skiing,” she said. “Pain is…something I just deal with.”
Vonn’s most recent knee surgery took place over the summer. Like her regular skiing posts, she has been sharing consistent gym content that proves she is working hard to stave off another injury.
Nevertheless, she won’t be putting her skis away for good anytime soon.
