'Barbie' star Emma Mackey, 27, revealed this week that she has had to live with "really intense cystic and hormonal acne" since her teens, and the skin condition has impacted her mental health. The 37-year-old model loves to be open and honest about her life on social media and her skin woes is just one of the many topics she likes to post about. Posting a zoom-in photo of her zits on Instagram, she said: "I fully believe that if you show the good, you’ve got to show the bad.”

The 33-year-old singer/songwriter has lived with cystic acne with years and tried a variety of treatments to beat the breakouts. Recommending Manuka honey applied directly to the skin, she said: "Don't get discouraged with your skin when it doesn't do what you want it to do. Give it some time."

The ‘This Is Us’ star was blessed with clear skin as a teenager so she found it “traumatising” to get acne in her early 20s. Mandy, 39, said: "People were always very complimentary about my skin. But that made it all the more traumatizing when I hit 22 or 23, and out of nowhere, my skin started breaking out literally overnight."

The ‘Dance The Night’ hitmaker, 28, kept acne at bay by being “quite methodical” with her skincare routine. She told Stylist magazine: "I wash my makeup off every night with a rosehip cleansing oil by Pai, then use a cream cleanser and apply a probiotic serum."

The 27-year-old actress opened up about the negative impact her breakouts had on her self-esteem". She wrote on Instagram: "I've had cystic acne since I was 12. And it has caused major self esteem issues ever since.”

The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star revealed to Byrdie magazine that “the day I turned 21, my skin just went nuts”. Lucy, 34, now takes a holistic approach to her skincare to combat the spots.

The 25-year-old actress felt “very insecure” when she started breaking out during her Disney days. She said: "I remember the first time I started to get acne, I started to see all these little bumps under my skin, and it just made me feel very insecure every time someone would look to me or talk to me.”

The 27-year-old model might have wowed designers and photographers around the world, but sometimes when she looks in the mirror she doesn't feel confident due to her skin. Kendall suffered from particularly bad acne when she was a teenager. In 2019, she said: "While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating. It's something that I've dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I'd like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect."

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel may be one of the most in-demand models around she has “struggled” with breakouts throughout her working life. Taylor, 27, told Allure magazine: "I'm a human being. I'm a girl and it's not easy being a woman. We go through a lot, and I think it's cool to just make sure people know that.”

The ‘Lose You To Love Me’ hitmaker, 31, attributed being a singer to why she suffered with getting her “worst” spots on her chin. She said: "My chin gets it the worst because I hold my microphone as close to me as I possibly can, because some of my music has softer tones to it.”
