They met in the halls of the Disney Channel and began dating in 2011, building a relationship of almost a decade. Fans began speculating about a possible split after noticing that the actors had not appeared together on their Instagram stories celebrating the Christmas holidays, as in previous years. According to E! News, the cause of their split was "scheduling conflicts and long-distance issues".
