Lidl has made all our Christmas dreams come true by reducing the prices of all your essential Christmas lunch vegetables to 15p a bag!
Included in the amazing deal are 500g Brussels sprouts, 1kg carrots, 1kg red cabbage, 500g parsnips, and 1.5kg mini roasting potatoes. Also included in Lidl’s big veggie sale is a 500g bag of shallots, but you’ll have to fork out 29p for those posh onions.
This deal makes Lidl the cheapest place to buy your festive vegetables this Christmas. Although, Aldi is selling a 2kg bag of full-size potatoes for 19p, so for 4p more, you get 500g more spuds.
This cracking deal starts today (Wednesday 18 December) while stocks last, so you may want to get a wriggle on.
A little while back, Lidl announced that it would be donating over 250,000 meals to local communities and charities over Christmas.
This will mean the supermarket will have donated 4.3million meals to those in need through their Feed It Back campaign, which sees it redistribute surplus food.
Feed It Back works by making sure local organisations are kept up to date with the food that's available from Lidl, so the charities can use it as and when they need it.
Christian Härtnagel, CEO at Lidl GB said: “It’s important to us that each and every one of our stores has a positive impact on its community. That’s why we’re proud to work with Neighbourly, the food redistribution organisation connecting our stores with over 1,500 local charities, food banks and community groups who make good use of surplus food. This way, as well as cutting down on food waste, we’re able to support the important work these groups are doing for the people who need it most – particularly around Christmas time.”
