It's widely believed that organic food is better for our health and for the planet, but shopping for organic groceries can often have a big impact on your wallet. So, in an effort to keep costs down, Lidl is launching a new organic range next month, without the hefty price tags.

From 1st February, 28 organic products will be on offer as part of the chain's Organic Week. It includes healthy kitchen staples, from olive oil to yoghurt, and best of all, every item is under £4.

'It's a myth that buying organic has to always mean paying over the odds,' Roxanne Inglis, Head of Food Promotions at Lidl commented. 'With our range, we're keen to prove just how committed we are to providing the best quality products at the best value prices.'

Organic smoked salmon (£2.99), agave syrup (£1.99) and pots of organic yoghurt with granola (69p) are among the best bargains.

Those experimenting with grains will be pleased to find organic quinoa, amaranth, bulgar wheat, buckwheat and spelt on Lidl's supermarket shelves (£1.99). Of course, there are a few treats to try too.
