Lidl has launched the 'croll' just in time for summer barbecues
Lidl is constantly making us want things we never thought we needed, and now they've dreamed up a new hybrid food that's set to be the talk of all our summer BBQs.
In the spirit of the 'cronut' (croissant doughnut) and the 'duffin' (doughnut muffin), the 'croll' combines the flaky, buttery goodness of a croissant with the structural hold of a bread roll, apparently making them easier to slice and fill with your choice of sweet or savoury filling.
We haven't indulged yet, but we're imagining the croll tastes a bit like a richer, flaky brioche.
Lidl says they're perfect for serving up juicy burgers in, filling with eggs and bacon for a new take on the breakfast roll, or scoffing with strawberries and whipped cream whilst watching Wimbledon.
Ready to give one a try? Lidl's crolls will be available in store from Thursday 20th June for just 49p each.
