Liam Payne's friend makes shock new claim - after seeing him 1hr before tragic death
Liam Payne's pal Roger Nores has shockingly revealed that the One Direction heartthrob seemed "happy" and "perfectly balanced" just an hour before his untimely passing. The pop star tragically plummeted to his death from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, back in October. Despite widespread reports painting a picture of Liam in a state of frenzy, Roger, an Argentine businessman who struck up a friendship with Liam at a Vogue event in London in 2020, was with him on that fateful day and insists he was in high spirits.
Roger, who had been accused of "abandonment" after Liam's death but has strongly denied these claims and faces no charges, is now setting the record straight. Contrary to suggestions that Liam was intoxicated and causing a disturbance prior to his fall with one hotel worker even dialling emergency services Roger contends that Liam was joyfully mingling with other guests shortly before the tragedy occurred.
In the upcoming TMZ documentary, Roger revealed his last moments with Liam, saying: "I'm a very good friend of Liam, and I was with him the day that he passed away. He was in good spirits. He was like talking to 10 or 15 Americans that were here for a wedding. And so he was talking to them, and he was joking around."

He then shares details about their final encounter: "I left like at 4:05, or so, and he was in good spirits. He was perfectly balanced, like talking to everybody, having fun, laughing, so nothing out of the ordinary and that's when I said, 'Okay, bye'."
During an interview with TMZ's Harvey Levin, Roger is questioned about the tragic incident: "So you left him about an hour before he fell off that balcony. And you say, he seemed fine?" To which Roger confirms: "Yeah, well, he seemed he seemed playful and happy."
Roger also insists he didn't leave Liam in the lurch, revealing to the cameras: "I went to a hotel three times to check on him. During that morning, he seemed tipsy, but nothing out of the ordinary."
The music industry was left reeling following the announcement of Liam's passing on 16 October. His grieving family released a poignant statement, saying: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time".
