Liam Payne says Cheryl doesn't want son Bear to follow in their showbiz footsteps

Liam Payne has revealed Cheryl doesn't want their son Bear to have a career in showbiz.

The Strip That Down hitmaker split from the singer in June 2018 after two and a half years together, and said that his ex isn't keen on their four-year-old following in their footsteps.

Liam found fame on The X Factor in 2008 when he was grouped together with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan to form the boyband One Direction, while Cheryl found fame on ITV singing show Popstars: The Rivals, when she landed a coveted spot in Girls Aloud with bandmates Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts in 2002.

However, when asked if he wanted son Bear to take part in a reality show when he's older, Liam was hesitant.

"This is a tricky one. I think his mum hopes he’s going to be this yoga person. His mum is very chilled these days. I would never stop him but I would let him know the risks. My parents did not experience what I had. I want him to do something he enjoys doing every day," he explained.

The Fight for This Love hitmaker has taken a step back from the spotlight since becoming a mum, and made a brief return to social media in February to make a fundraising appeal for Comic Relief.

Liam recently called off his engagement to model Maya Henry, and sources told The Sun that he hopes to spend more time with his son.

"Liam just wants to spend more time with his son Bear since the split. That's his boy, he means the world to him. He's devoted to being a dad and making more time with his little man now he's getting older," the source stated.
