It's been ten years since five floppy haired boys made their way up on stage to audition for a chance to take the top spot on the UK's biggest singing talent show. You know the story, X Factor judges decided to group the separate acts; Liam, Zayn, Harry, Niall and Louis to become One Direction. Multiple awards, worldwide tours and one or two quite public feuds later, they're still one of the biggest boy bands in history, and today marks the tenth anniversary of their X Factor auditions.
To mark the special date, Liam posted a throwback picture to Instagram late last night, showing him mid-performance during his audition. He also took the time to poke fun at his (could we call it iconic?) haircut.
He captioned the post, "It’s been 10 years today since my X factor audition... and I just read that my first album just hit over 2 billion streams... that scared young man didn’t think that was gunna happen. Seriously thank you everyone who’s made this decade of my life possible and to everyone who’s listening thank you for enjoying my music and my bands too p.s. thanks also, for putting up with some awful haircuts like the one above 👌🏼🙌🏼🥰 [sic]."
That is quite a lewk, Liam.
