It's been nearly four years since Cheryl and Liam Payne welcomed their son Bear into the world. And while the couple, who are no longer together, tend to keep him out of the spotlight (aside from a few rare and adorable appearances at Christmas) they have always spoken out about how committed they are to co-parenting. Which is why it's all the more heartbreaking that Liam recently opened up about how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has stopped him from being able to see his son regularly.

Last week Liam took part in an Instagram Live interview with producer Ben Winston, who he worked with on several One Direction videos as well as the band's 2013 documentary, This is Us.

He spoke to Winston about the challenges of co-parenting during lockdown, saying, "I went and saw Bear today we had a little hangout which was nice as I haven’t seen him in a couple of weeks," he explained. "It’s hard with the COVID thing as I have to make sure I’m negative before I go over and see him so it’s having to wait that couple of days before you can test and whatever so… He’s only up the street and it’s dead complicated but he’s gotten so big. He's huge."

Liam and Cheryl welcomed Bear in March 2017, and after announcing their split in July 2018 have often spoken about how they work together to co-parent him. In September Liam announced his engagement to model Maya Henry.
