Les Miserables premiere: Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway work the monochrome trend on the red carpet

Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway stole the show at the Les Miserables world premiere in London tonight in dazzling monochrome frocks.

The actresses walked the red carpet in stunning gowns, with Amanda appearing first in a black ankle-length gown, nipped in at the waist with a sweetheart neckline.

Amanda Seyfried’s Balenciaga dress featured a unique ruffle design, with the underneath of the ruffles coloured white, creating a striking match against the dark black.

The 27-year-old American actress completed the look with a pair of simple black court shoes, sweeping her blonde locks to one side.

Anne Hathaway opted for a full-length white Givenchy Couture gown covered in pearlescent bobbles - with a flattering off-the-shoulder neckline.

The dress featured a sizzling scoop-neck at the back, revealing the actress' toned figure from behind.

The 30-year-old American actress kept her make-up relatively simple for the premiere, opting for natural-coloured lips and an ivory complexion.
