Leigh-Anne just dropped a hint about when she's hoping to give birth
Over the weekend, we learned the joyful news that Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and her partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain welcomed their first child together.
Perrie gave birth to the little one on 21 August and the next day, shared some super cute snaps of the newborn's teeny hands and feet. One person on hand with a heartfelt congratulations message was, of course, Perrie's bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who's due to give birth herself very soon.
"I am so proud of you and I love you so much 🥺 what an angel," Leigh-Anne commented on Perrie's public pregnancy announcement. And it's not Leigh's only social media activity over the weekend - in fact, she took to her Instagram stories with a hint about when she's hoping her own bundle of joy will arrive.
The singer posted a snap of her Sunday evening meal, which as well as including a green juice and avocado, featured a spicy vegan chilli. Given that spicy food is often said to help induce labour, it seems like Leigh-Anne could be tucking into the ready meal in an attempt to move her own birth process along.
It's not uncommon at all to hear of women eating spicy food at the end of their pregnancies, but this method of inducing labour is based on hearsay rather than evidence. The theory is that this kind of food can stimulate your gut, and in turn kickstart movement in your womb, but there's no proof this is the case.
Regardless, we're sure that after three trimesters, and seeing Perrie welcome her baby, Leigh-Anne is very much ready to meet her child with fiancé Andre Gray.
Last week, the singer posted some images of herself looking stunning with her third trimester bump, and said "it's nearly time" for her baby to make its entrance into the world.
"I have dreamt of the moment I get to meet you, hold you, guide you, teach you. It’s nearly time," she wrote.
Let's hope Leigh's spicy dinner works its magic and she gets to meet her little one very soon!
