Leeds' richest village losing its pub indefinitely amid industry 'struggles'
Leeds' richest village will be losing its pub for an indefinite period with the leaseholders looking to move on while the industry, as a whole, is 'struggling'.
The Windmill Inn, in Linton, will be closing its doors on Sunday, January 19, with a reduced menu served in the meantime. The village is Leeds' wealthiest area with house prices currently averaging at £678,677 over the past year, according to Rightmove.
The north Leeds pub, on Main Street, will be shutting down while the current leaseholders find a buyer. It is unknown how long this process will take. The pub's general manager has made assurances the pub will be back, however, so their regulars should not get worried.

General manager Craig said: "It's come to the end of the contract with the people here, at the moment. They just didn't want to continue. It's just the industry as a whole. I've been doing this for 37 years and have never seen anything like it. I've got three friends who have closed their pubs in the last four weeks. They're staffed all over Yorkshire and they're very successful pubs.
"We're at that pinnacle of this is the most you're going to make and you get towards April with all the inflation increases is not going to help. The industry as a whole has been struggling since Covid."
