Lauren Ray performs single 'Irreplaceable' in exclusive music session

After three successful tours – with Lucy Spraggan, Rebecca Ferguson and Anastacia – singer-songwriter Lauren Ray decided to return to the studio.

And that was time well spent, as she is now back with a new album, Woman in the Arena, and a new single, Irreplaceable, which Ray performs in an exclusive music session (above).

Irreplaceable, which was produced by Julian Emery (Lissie/Nothing But Thieves), showcases a different side to Ray’s song writing.

Combining electronics and beats like never before, she delivers an upbeat, infectious slice of pop.

"Whilst the verses tell the story of a previous relationship, the choruses and overall message is about finding someone who makes you feel completely irreplaceable ” says Ray.

"Working closely with Julian on the style of this song was an absolute dream. He really helped capture the mood I was looking for.

"For my second album I was really keen on exploring a more pop production and wanted to push myself both as a writer and performer.

"Whilst Irreplaceable, along with all the new songs were still written sitting at my piano, I just knew that I wanted to present them with this completely different energy."

Ray released her debut album, We Will Need Courage , in 2016. This was followed more recently by her four-track EP, Inside This Silence.

As well as writing her new album, Ray had busy touring schedule. She was part of Lucy Spraggan’s UK tour in 2017, featured on Rebecca Ferguson's in 2018, and supported Anastacia on her European tour in 2018 too.

She is now preparing to head back out on the road over the next few months with Paul Carrack on his 30-date tour, which includes a night at the London Palladium and Liverpool Philharmonic.
