When she was featured in the 2014 SI Swimsuit Issue, South African model Lauren Mellor double-dipped with not one but two features in the magazine’s 50th anniversary publication.
She donned several stunning bikinis and monokini swimsuits for her beachside photoshoot with Walter Iooss Jr. in St. Lucia, and also stripped down for a bodypaint feature while in the Caribbean country. For the latter, she worked with the same photographer, as well as makeup artist Joanne Gair, to channel SI Swimsuit legend Kathy Ireland’s 1990 SI Swimsuit Issue feature in St. Vincent.
In addition to her work with the brand, the model has also worked with notable companies like Freya Swimwear, Agent Provocateur and The Body Shop. Mellor is a nature lover who obtained her psychology degree from the University of Cape Town.
“Growing up, my parents were always very passionate about wildlife and going to nature preserves, so that’s kind of where my hobbies kind of came from,” she previously told SI Swimsuit. “I love to go spend time in national parks.”
Today, the 37-year-old is represented by METRO Models, and in addition to her industry work, she’s a proud mom. Mellor and her partner, Stew Game, welcomed daughter Isla in March, which she announced on Instagram a few months after the baby’s birth.
Whether she’s in front of the camera or sharing updates with her sweet family of three, we love follow along with Mellor’s journey. Similarly, we enjoy throwing it back to her SI Swimsuit features of the past, and today we’re highlighting a few of our favorite snaps from her beachside feature in St. Lucia.
