Huge congratulations are in order for Love Island host Laura Whitmore and her comedian husband Iain Stirling, as they've officially welcomed their first baby - a girl - into the world.

Taking to social media to share the joyful news, new mum Laura wrote the sweetest tribute to her little one and shared a photo of her looking absolutely teeny tiny in a carrying sling.

Captioning the photo, Laura wrote: "馃惃 thanks for all the kind messages at this time. We are in love x".

The former Strictly star revealed that she was expecting a girl in her recent book, No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, in which she wrote: "As I finish this book, it doesn't end at chapter nine, there's a new chapter coming into my life - in the form of a baby girl currently growing inside me and that scares the sh*t out of me."

She continued: "I once swallowed a bug and freaked out there was a live bug inside me. A live human is a whole new level of freaking out but I am excited because there's a lot of good in the world, there's a lot of potential."

Currently, the little one's name remains a secret and dad Iain is yet to post anything announcing the birth on his social channels. The official date that their daughter made her first appearance has also no been confirmed.

It's been a busy old time for Laura and Iain, as the couple shared earlier this year that they were previously married in secret, after receiving many well wishes from fans (and Iain was spotted wearing a wedding band last November).

Alongside a photo of the pair looking over the moon, the presenter wrote: "Entering 2021 like... A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony. We loved having it to ourselves. We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that鈥檚 what we got. We have never spoken publicly about our engagement or wedding. Back at the time we never felt the need to say anything as it鈥檚 all such a personal experience. We also were too busy enjoying it!"

She continued: "We鈥檝e never shared this picture before now but a lot of people have contacted us and congratulated us the last month with good intentions so here鈥檚 to good news! And if anyone uses this picture we鈥檇 appreciate you donating on our behalf to @chooselove 鉂わ笍 sending love to you and yours and here鈥檚 to 2021! Happy new year everyone! Wishing you all the love x"

Big congratulations to you both Laura and Iain!
