New mum Laura Whitmore took to Instagram this weekend to give her honest opinion on motherhood and her post-pregnancy body.

The Love Island presenter, who is married to the show’s narrator Iain Sterling, gave birth to the couple’s first baby in recent weeks, although they haven’t confirmed the exact date or name yet.

Speaking to her 1.4 million followers, Laura said; “Little tip for speaking to new mums… everyone has a different experience so please don’t put your opinion or expectation on them.”

She went on to add, “I’ve been told I won't be able to leave the house and should feel shit. But I actually feel the best I’ve ever felt and the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life.” Laura spoke about being made to feel guilty for feeling so positive, but expressed that she shouldn’t be made to feel that way after creating “something incredible.”

The presenter then addressed her experience with breastfeeding and her changing body, which many new mums can certainly relate to — “Those boobs are looking good!” she said.

In her post, Laura made sure to reassure fellow mothers that each of their journeys and bodies are unique, and not to feel pressured into feeling a certain way. “You should never compare yourself to anyone else as your journey is specific to you” she said.

“Stop comparing bodies and situations. My body is not here for your comparison so please don’t judge it. Support other women, it doesn’t knock you — in fact it empowers you.”

Earlier in the week, Laura shared a series of photos of her back at work on the set of Celebrity Juice. The pics showed her alongside celebrity castmates, as well as breastfeeding while getting her hair done.

Fans were impressed to see Laura back at work so soon after giving birth, and praised her for feeding her baby while on the job.
