  • Love Island received over 100 complaints about Michael Griffiths' behaviour towards Amber Gill, which is hardly surprising.

  • During a chat in last night's episode [16 July], Amber told him "you don't speak to us with niceness."

Love Island 2019 has been receiving Ofcom complaints left, right and centre. First people were worried about Joe Garratt's treatment of Lucie Donlan. Then people were complaining about Maura Higgins' behaviour towards Tommy Fury. And now? Unsurprisingly, people are not happy with how things have played out between Michael Griffiths and Amber Gill.

While tensions have been bubbling between the pair for over a week now, things came to a head during Monday night's episode [15 July 2019] when Michael told Amber to "sit down". Many viewers compared his language to that of an owner speaking to his dog, while others berated him for a lack of respect.

So much so, that Ofcom confirmed to Radio Times that they received 147 complaints; "the majority related to Michael’s behaviour", which was deemed "unacceptable" by fans.

Others took to Twitter to share their opinions on Michael's behaviour. "Michael is actually so rude and cruel, it's clear he doesn't care about Amber as a person at all and it breaks my heart #LoveIsland There is a pattern of disrespect with him and i can not stand for it, he has to go," one viewer wrote.

Another added, "So someone needs to call Michael out on abusive and unacceptable behaviour," while a third wrote, "The sit down was mad unnecessary, Michael could have just expressed himself to Amber without the disrespect. #LoveIsland."

During last night's episode, Michael and Amber seemingly cleared the air, after Ovie Soko called him out for being rude. Michael said, "The only reason I've come to speak to you now is to squash the thing from last night, and to apologise. Because I'm not a nasty person."

Has the row finally been put to bed?
