Kylie Minogue shared a childhood throwback to celebrate her 54th birthday

Kylie Minogue shared a sweet throwback picture from her childhood this weekend to celebrate her birthday.

The pop star turned 54 years old on Sunday 29 May and marked the occasion on social media by posting a photograph of herself as a child.

The adorable black-and-white photo shows a young Kylie resting her head of her hand while smiling cheekily at the camera.She has perfectly styled long wavy hair with a cute short fringe.

As well as sharing the cute throwback photo, Kylie used the opportunity to thank her fans and loved ones for their birthday wishes.

In the accompanying caption, she wrote: "Oh my …. When you’re so overwhelmed by the birthday love 💖 Thank you for your lovely messages. Sending all the love right back to each and every one of you."

The "Can't Get You out of My Head" singer was recently seen among the stars on the red carpet for the premiere of ABBA's new concert with her longtime boyfriend Paul Solomons.

Kylie has also opened up about her "emotional" return to Neighbours as Charlene Robinson ahead of the Australian soap's conclusion.

"It was lovely and emotional," she told Today Extra (via MailOnline). "Driving into Ramsay Street was quite something."

Sharing her reaction to being back on set, Kylie admitted that she was thinking: "Firstly, where's all that time gone? Secondly, everything looks exactly the same. Thirdly, Scott, Charlene, Jane, Harold – it all just came flooding back."

As for how Charlene and Scott will be featured in Neighbours' concluding episodes, Kylie is keeping tight-lipped for now. What she could say, however, was just how much reminiscing there was.

"There was a lot of talking about memories and going back in time," she added.
