Rapper Tyga has been arrested for domestic violence after his ex-girlfriend shared photos of her alleged injuries on social media. The 31-year-old also formerly dated reality TV star Kylie Jenner, and has a child with model, Blac Chyna.

In a post shared with her 790k followers on her Instagram Story, Camaryn Swanson accused Tyga of "emotionally, mentally and physically" abusing her, alongside a photo of her bruised and swollen eye. After Swanson made the claim on 11 October, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the musician, whose real name is Michael Stevenson, had been charged. He reportedly turned himself into police on 12 October, and has since been released on a $50,000 (£36,700) bail.

The LAPD confirmed the arrest on their official Twitter account. In a tweet shared yesterday, the department said: "Hollywood Div booked Michael Stevenson for felony domestic violence (273.5 A PC). The incident occurred on 10/12/21 in Hollywood."

A source close to Tyga told TMZ that Swanson had apparently showed up to his house "uninvited" at 3am. But she denied the claims in her Instagram Story, saying: "I didn’t show up 'screaming' or uninvited. When I tried to leave he physically assaulted [me] and refused to let me leave for hours."

The influencer continued, "I’m so embarrassed and ashamed it had to get to this but I have to stand up for myself." She also shared screenshots of an apparent text conversation between them, which she claims proves Tyga sent a car to pick her up and bring her to his house.

According to the report by TMZ, police officers who attended saw "visible marks" on Swanson, and they took a report for felony domestic violence.

The pair reportedly started dating earlier this year, and Swanson has been spotted numerous times wearing an engagement ring. It's currently unclear when the couple split up.

Tyga has not yet commented on the accusations, but his court hearing has been set for 8 February, 2022.

Tyga previously dated Kylie Jenner, who he first met in 2011, although they weren't romantically linked until he broke up with Blac Chyna in 2014. It's safe to say this caused some tension amongst the Kardashian-Jenners, as Blac Chyna went on to date and have a child with Kylie's brother, Rob Kardashian.
