Kristen Stewart confirms she's engaged to girlfriend Dylan Meyer
Kristen Stewart has announced her engagement to girlfriend Dylan Meyer, revealing that screenwriter Meyer 'nailed' the proposal.
The 31-year-old star – who has been busy on the promotional trail for her acclaimed biopic Spencer in which she plays the late Princess Diana – confirmed the happy news during an appearance on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show.
'We're marrying, we're totally gonna do it,' Stewart said. 'I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. We're marrying, it's happening.'
Stewart told Stern that she first said 'I love you' to Meyer just two weeks into dating, with the pair having first met eight years ago while working on a film.
'It was like really late, and we were in some sh**ty bar, and her friends were there or whatever, and they like walked out, and I was just like, "Oh man, I'm so f**king in love with you,' she recalled. 'Done. It wasn't like a thing, and also it was like so obvious. It just is.'
On their connection, she added: 'We're both from L.A. and we really love L.A. We're both kind of like, scumbags. We both felt like trolls as kids. We're so similar but different. She's a writer; she's brilliant.'
Stewart and Meyer – who recently co-wrote Amy Poehler's directorial debut Moxie for Netflix – have been together for just over two years. While Kristen prefers to avoid social media, Dylan recently shared a cute snap of the pair looking loved up on Instagram.
'Awful proud of this hard-working princess,' Dylan added in the caption.
Meanwhile, Kristen has been generating Oscar buzz for her captivating role as the late princess in Chilean director Pablo Larraín's biopic, written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
The film takes place during an imagined Christmas holiday at Sandringham in 1991, where Diana was on the verge of ending her marriage to Prince Charles.
Spencer will be released in cinemas on 5 November.
