Krispy Kreme’s Annual 'Day of the Dozens' Is Back—With Free Doughnuts
It's the most wonderful deal of the year.
‘Tis the season of endless desserts! Not that we ever really stop craving what’s new at Krispy Kreme, but when it’s cold out and we’re celebrating the holidays, it’s even easier to defend our decision to buy that box of doughnuts—occasion or not.
Our hearts have already grown three sizes with the recent unveiling of the brand’s Merry Grinchmas Collection, complete with doughnuts made to look like the mean, green one himself. The current “How the Grinch Who Stole Christmas”-themed sweets follow a year of edible innovations that we haven’t been able to resist.
At Halloween time, we bit into the spectral Ghostbusters Collection, complete with Stay Puft and Slimer-inspired desserts. We even celebrated our favorite doll with the 65th anniversary Barbie Collection. And who can forget the iconic Dr. Pepper doughnut over the summer? But the doughnut collabs aren’t even our favorite thing about Krispy Kreme—it’s the deals. And this week, Krispy Kreme is bringing back what is arguably its best deal of the year.
Krispy Kreme Brings Back Its Annual “Day of the Dozens”
Everyone knows that only thing better than a warm, freshly boxed Original Glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme is 12 of them. And on the brand’s annual “Day of the Dozens,” there’s far more to look forward to than saying its alliterative name with appropriate gravitas.
That’s because on Thursday, Dec. 12, guests at Krispy Kreme are welcome to come in for a dozen free doughnuts at participating shops. Yes, free.
How does it work? All you have to do is buy any dozen doughnuts at full price, and you'll be treated to a box of 12 complimentary Original Glazed doughnuts. That's an even better deal than last year, when the Day of the Dozens deal was buy one dozen, get a dozen for $1.
Available both in stores and at the drive-thru, it’s even possible to get two free dozens if you purchase the equivalent amount of full-price doughnuts. But don’t get too greedy—there’s a limit of two dozen free doughnuts per guest.
Now the hardest decision you’ll have to make is who to share that dozen with. In the holiday movie "Elf" (which inspired Krispy Kreme’s holiday collection last year), Buddy the Elf says "the best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear." We’d argue that showing up at someone’s door with a dozen hot Original Glazed doughnuts is a pretty effective way to spread holiday cheer, too.
