Kris Jenner explains why Khloe named her baby True

It’s been a hell of a week for Khloe Kardashian. First, she was hit with cheating allegations against boyfriend Tristan. Then, amidst all the drama, some happy news as she gave birth to her first child; a baby girl born on 12th April.

Then yesterday (16th April) she announced the name of her daughter: True.

"Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE. Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!" she wrote on Instagram, with a picture of a pink nursery awash with balloons.

Since the reveal, fans have been wondering what inspired Khloe to come up with the unusual name - but it turns out True has a lot of family history to it.

"FUN FACT," Khloe's mum Kris wrote on Instagram as she celebrated the birth. "My Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton....my real Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton...so I am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!! #lovebug#familytradition #family @true"

Not everyone is quite as enamoured with the moniker, though. Some have pointed out that Tristan’s alleged infidelities might make things just a little bit awkward.

Still, the name seems to be working out ok for the new addition so far; she already has her own official Instagram handle. The @true account is followed by Kris, which makes Khloe’s daughter the first of the Kar/Jenner babies born this year (after Chicago, Kim’s daughter and Stormi, Kylie’s baby girl) to have her own account.
