On Monday, the ‘momager’ made an appearance on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show and explained the precautions the family took in order to throw the birthday bash as safely as possible.
‘We are very lucky to work in an industry where we get tested once or twice a week,’ the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star told Cohen.
‘I just got tested again. I was tested on Friday, because of the network rules while we are filming as you know, so that’s very strict.’
Jenner continued, noting that guests were made to adhere to a strict testing protocol before being let into the party, which was attended by the likes of Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian West and Hailey Bieber.
‘Whenever we have a gathering - no matter how big or small - no matter, you know, whether it’s five people or 25 people, you know, or 20 people, we have, like at Kendall’s, everyone got tested before they walked in the door and they had to wait, you know, a half an hour until the testing was, the results were in,’ she added.
In response to the criticism her daughter has received for the Halloween-themed bash, the mother-of-six noted: ‘We do what we can, we try to follow the rules.
‘And then if people are, you know, they’re commenting and they’re being critical, I can’t control that - I just can control how we behave and, you know, try to do the best we can.’
Since the party, which was thrown on a rooftop in Los Angeles, several social media users have criticised the model and her guests for seemingly ignoring social distancing rules and blowing out candles.
According to NHS England, respiratory droplets carrying infectious pathogens – like Covid-19 – can transmit infection when they travel directly from the respiratory tract of an infectious individual to susceptible mucosal surfaces of a recipient, generally over short distances.
‘This can be in the form of sneezing, coughing or speaking,’ it notes on its website.
Criticism levied at Jenner comes days after the model's sister, Kim, sparked backlash (and the creation of many memes) on social media after hosting a 40th birthday party on a private island with her friends and family.
After sharing several images from the island party on her Instagram account last month, several of the beauty mogul's followers criticised her for her ‘tone deaf’ and seemingly insensitive decision as the pandemic continues to affect people across the world.
‘40 and feeling so humbled and blessed,’ the 40-year-old captioned a series of photos of herself and her guests on the island on Instagram. ‘There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter.
‘For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today. Before Covid, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment.’
The reality TV star revealed on social media that her guests was asked to undergo ‘two weeks of multiple health screens’ and quarantine.
‘I realise that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40,’ she added.
