Rum really comes into its own in summer, whether you're making rum punches or trying out tasty cocktails, like mojitos or pina coladas. And now there's a delicious-sounding new twist on the classic for you to enjoy this summer...
Swedish drinks brand Kopparberg has just launched a new dark cherry rum. Infused with a bold cherry flavour, it promises to be refreshing and sweet with a cherry kick adding to the usual depth of a spiced rum.
It sounds perfect for BBQs and sunny afternoons in the garden, bringing a real tropical holiday feel to summer days.
Rob Salvesen, Head of Marketing for Kopparberg said in the release: "We are exploring our darker side with a cherry spiced rum that delivers everything you’ve come to expect from Kopparberg, full fruit flavour and zero compromise on taste.
"Whether you’re an existing Kopparberg fan, or a rum fanatic who’s new to the brand, Kopparberg Cherry Spiced Rum is here to inject some energy and excitement into your summer. Best enjoyed with a few friends, grab yourself a bottle or a couple of premixed cans as the tempo picks up and the darkness kicks in.”
The brand has also shared the recommended serve of its new tipple as 50ml of Kopparberg Cherry Spiced Rum over ice in a tall glass, with cola mixer of choice, and a lime wedge garnish. Or, if you're on-the-go or having fun in the sun, the brand is also releasing pre-mixed Cherry Rum & Cola 250ml ready to drink cans, too.
We're just imaging all the experimental and tasty cocktails you could create with this fun new tipple. We can't wait to try it!
Kopparberg Cherry Spiced Rum (ABV 37.5%) will be available at Asda for £20 RRP and £18 on promotion for a 70cl bottle. Kopparberg Cherry Spiced Rum & Cola RTD cans (ABV 5%) will also be available for 4x250ml at £6 RRP, and £5 on promotion.
