Vetements is done with Fashion Week, so says head honcho Demna Gvasalia. The brand that has been credited with revolutionising the entire fashion industry believes that the day of the fashion show is dead. “I got bored. Fashion shows are not the best tool. We did the show in the sex club, the restaurant, the church. We brought forward the season, we showed men’s and women’s together. It’s become repetitive and exhausting,” the designer told Vogue. Vetements had tried everything out from showing co-ed collection to moving onto the couture schedule. Gvasalia also commented that shows are “a complete waste” of money, revealing that it cost him €100,000 (£77,000) to stage Vetements’ last show. However, the design collective will still show a collection every season. In their latest bold move, Vetements will be hosting an exhibition in Paris this season.
