Location, Location, Location presenter Kirstie Allsopp has sparked a heated debate after admitting she irons her tea towels.

Posting on Twitter, Kirstie shared a photo of her ironing board with a pile of clothes, linens, towels, and neatly folded tea towels sitting on top. A dreaded task for many, her followers were quick to spot the items and asked whether she actually irons her towels and tea towels.

"No, just tea towels, I fold towels and put them under the ironing board to air," Kirstie replied, admitting that she wouldn't give up ironing for lent.

Some were baffled at the prospect of ironing tea towels, pointing out that they will soon get dirty and creased again. One said: "Who the heck irons towels or tea towels," while another added: "The only thing worth ironing are smart shirts ... all else a complete waste of time!"

Others, however, were more keen on the idea. One reply read: "Ironing is satisfying, why knock those that want to iron. I don't do half as much as I used to but bedding and tea towels are amongst the things I still do."

This isn't the first time Kirstie has sparked a debate, either. Back in 2019, the presenter explained that washing machines don't belong in kitchen, saying that it's her "life's work to get washing machines out of the kitchen". Meanwhile, in another Tweet, she explained her frustration at those who "disinfect their homes".
