King Charles health update given by Camilla – as she urges him to 'behave himself'

Queen Camilla has shared an update on the health of her husband King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. At an event at Rye's Lamb House in East Sussex the Queen, 76, shared that her husband would be "getting better" if he "behaved himself."

Sharing that the King, 75, is on the mend, Camilla also voiced her exasperation at his workaholic tendency, considering he crammed five Royal commitments into 48 hours last week, despite his health.

Queen Camilla, who was treated to a performance by actors Timothy West and Hayley Mills at the event, said Charles is recovering well but was "quite cross he could not be there" at the National Trust property, home of the author EF Benson.

Discussing Charles's health, Camilla playfully stated: "Well, he would be [recovering] if he behaved himself", reports the Mirror. Despite, her husband's absence Camilla, though, enjoyed her literary-themed day by the coast, aptly timed as she herself has launched her own literary festival.

As Camilla took questions from others attending the event, one child asked: "Are there any fictional places from a book that you would like to travel to and why?" To which, she replied: "One place I think I'd love to go is Hogwarts.

"I'd like to jump on the Express and I'd like to go to Hogwarts and sit in that wonderful hall and wait for the hat to come round and pick a house for me."

She continued: "I'd like to look at Dumbledore, and Hagrid, and Snape, and see all the pictures going mad and people jumping out of pictures and the food flying about, I think it would be a proper magical experience, and that's a place I'd really like to go to."

The star-studded event was graced by the presence of children's laureate Joseph Coelho, Tracy Beaker author Jacqueline Wilson, screen legend Jenny Agutter, and Francesca Simon, known for the mischievous Horrid Henry series, alongside comedy icon Sir Lenny Henry.

While King Charles couldn't make it, he's expected to be front and centre at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show next week, having been cleared to return to some of his Royal duties.

Ahead of his return to his duties, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King’s continued recovery.”
