In an interview Bustle, the 53-year-old lawyer was asked about criticising an ex on social media, at which point it seems that West sprung to her mind.

Of West's actions, She added:'That's probably not the best way to go about things, particularly as a parent.'

In terms of her suggestions for navigating divorce, she insisted that it is best to keep domestic matters off social media.

'Let's give very vanilla stuff over the next however many months, so that it's not raising eyebrows and creating more attention,' she advised.

'I mean, he would still see the kids and stuff. Him and I just took a minute of not talking. And I think in relationships, it'll be like that. I hope we, you know, are the co-parenting goals at the end of the day.'

Kardashian continued: 'I look back and my mum and dad went through their hard time and it took people a minute to readjust.

'And I've seen it all before, I think we just have a different kind of platform now. But you know, it doesn't mean that maybe because he expressed himself in a certain way that he's not an amazing person and amazing friend. I do believe that we'll have that again. I'm always really hopeful.'

She maintained that her and West still 'have so much love for each other', saying: 'We're always family, we're always going to have so much love and we love our kids.

'We both love the time we spent together. You know, I think that we'll always have that and always cherish that. Sometimes it just doesn't work out for whatever reasons, but no matter what, I always just think of like the positive times.

Referring to West's public outbursts about her romance with Pete Davidson, she went on to say: 'If you were in a situation and you were hurting and that was your way of expressing yourself, like I don't judge.'

Of her current dynamic with her ex: 'Right now, it's good,' she said. 'When things are calm, we don't really communicate. But I think that's okay sometimes, you know.

'And I think that we will. We always will. That's just who I am. I spent a decade of my life with this person and I just have so much love for him. So that'll never change, but it doesn't mean that they're the right one for you and that's okay too."

There was no opposition to her petition, and so the request was granted.

While West has not yet commented on the news, he has released a new music video for his song 'Eazy' in which he appears to be burying a cartoon man, which seemingly resembles Pete Davidson (Kardashian's rumoured boyfriend), alive. Updated 25/02/2022: Kim Kardashian requests to have her divorce terminated as soon as possible

Kim Kardashian recently defended her current boyfriend Pete Davidson against her estranged husband Kanye West, following his public criticism of the comedian. This came by way of leaked messages sent from the SKIMS founder to the rapper, which he then publicised on social media.

Now - after Kardashian questioned West's decision to broadcast their private communications on his Instagram account - she has requested via a court document to have her marriage to West terminated rapidly, as a result of the 'emotional distress' she's faced due to the rapper's public moves, per NBC.

The statement obtained by the news outlet begins: 'I very much desire to be divorced. I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so.

'Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress. I believe that the court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children.'

The request supposedly continued: 'While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realisation that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realisation that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not. I ask that the court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives.'

A spokesperson for Kardashian and a spokesperson for Ye did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.

Prior to this, we learned that the reality star reportedly asked the court to be made legally single, which West's lawyers asked the court to deny.

A hearing is due to take place on March 2.

'I'm your number one fan. Why wouldn't I tell everyone!!!!'

The same news outlet reported that Davidson had also texted West: '... you as a man I'd never get in the way of your children. That's a promise. How you guys go about raising your kids is your business and not mine. I do hope [some] day I can meet them and we can all be friends'.

West's recent sentiment about Kardashian isn't the only way he's shown his affection for her as of late. He also shared an image on his Instagram account to show his grand gesture to her on Valentine's Day.

After months of mounting rumours, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kanye West, according to multiple reports.

The couple - entrenched in 2010s celebrity culture by way of PDA-filled music videos, high-profile public appearances on red carpets and the fan nickname 'Kimye' - have had one of the most recognisable and high-profile unions in the world, and married seven years ago in Italy.

According to TMZ, Kardashian filed for divorce through her lawyer Laura Wasser (a well known celebrity divorce lawyer, dubbed the 'disso queen' by the celebrity news outlet), who also represented Kardashian in her divorce from athlete Kris Humphries. The split is said to be amicable and the divorce will honour an existing prenuptial agreement. According to the Reuters news service, representatives for Kardashian have confirmed the reports as have representatives for the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Kardashian is seeking joint custody over the couple's four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, the reports claim.

Reports of a divorce follow months of rumours and tabloid speculation over the state of the couple's marriage.
