Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner enter their WAG fashion era
Cheryl is on in the West End, Victoria Beckham is storming Paris Fashion Week and no one, really, has filled the deficit of glamour they left behind in noughties football stadiums.
But there is a new and unlikley antidote: Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, of shared reality television acclaim, who have doubled down on WAG energy this week.
The stepsisters spent Sunday in Paris watching the Paris Saint-Germain vs Rennes match, and could be seen taking their box seats with wine glasses in hand and It-coats on their backs.
Kardashian was accompanying her and Kayne (Ye) West’s reportedly football-obsessed son Saint and four of his friends to the game. She organised the football trip of a lifetime for the boys who have, in a matter of days, recieved a wave from Lionel Messi, posed with Kylian Mbappé, facetimed with Neymar and been sent signed shirts from David Beckham. Kim’s branded herself “soccer mom” on Instagram.
Her look was altogether more soccer sci-fi than suburban mother, however, as she paired a £8,600 Matrix-style Prada double breasted leather trench coat from the AW22 catwalk with wrap-around Dior sunglasses. The outfit was finished with leggings, zip-up hoodie and thigh-high, grey denim stiletto boots.
By her side, Jenner ramped up the statement making with a full-length faux fur brown overcoat from Bottega Veneta’s SS23 runway, which she mixed-and-matched with a woodland camo and brown flame-detailed cap. The model looked every inch a modern day Carrie Bradshaw, the Sex and the City protagonist who wore a full-length fur coat and shades to the Yankee Stadium in season two.
The French visit came after Kardashian escorted the group of youngsters to see Arsenal play at the Emirates Stadium in London on Thursday March 16. She was later spotted across London, checking on her fashion label Skims rails in Selfridges and queueing in the rain to take a spin on the London Eye, matching Jenner’s attitude in a white faux fur Celine overcoat, Ottolinger printed blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
On St Patrick’s Day, Friday March 17, the socialite and entrepreneur wore a faux fur trim, cropped denim jacket from Alexander Wang and baggy blue denim jeans from Carhartt to embrace frivolities and pub hop in the capital, as fans snapped her with pints of Guinness across town.
