Update 27/07: Kanye West Apologises To Kim Kardashian

Kanye West has publicly apologised to his wife Kim Kardashian West on Twitter, following fan's concern in the wake of his latest tweets and public appearances.

On Sunday evening, the Yeezy designer shared a tweet with his 30 million followers apologising to his wife of six years for 'going public with something that was a private matter'.

The musician did not confirm exactly what he was referring to. But following a presidential campaign rally - where West shared that he and Kim had considered aborting their first child North West - reports circulated that the beauty mogul was upset at her husband revealing an extremely personal decision.

Days later, on Twitter, West - who has been open with his previous diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder leading fans to worry that he was unwell - also claimed that Kim and her mother Kris had tried to 'send doctors to lock me up' and also suggested he had tried to divorce Kim.

'To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me,' West signed off.

The tweet comes days after Kim issued a statement asking for the media and public to show 'empathy' at this time, which you can read more about below.

Original Story 22/07: Kim Kardashian Issues Statement Asking For Compassion In Wake Of Kanye West's Latest Tweets

Kim Kardashian West has issued a statement after fans expressed growing concern over her husband, Kanye West.

Over the past few days, West - who has previously opened up about his Bipolar diagnosis - has tweeted a series of concerning statements, including alleging that his wife and mother-in-law Kris Jenner have tried to have him 'locked up'.

The tweets - which the 21-time Grammy winner posted overnight before they were quickly deleted - came after West appeared distressed and tearful at a rally for his presidential bid.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, after another night of West's tweeting - in which the Yeezy founder claimed he had tried to divorce his wife of seven years and alleged that Kardashian West 'put out a statement without my approval' - the mother of four asked for compassion for her husband and largely attributed his recent behaviour to his mental health condition, suggesting that her family have been trying to help West behind the scenes.

'Today, I feel I should comment because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health,' the beauty entrepreneur said.

'Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or fr removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have [sic] to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.'

Bipolar disorder, according to the NHS, is characterised by episodes of extreme depression and mania (symptoms of which can include feeling very happy, having lots of energy, ambitions and plans, talking quickly and not feeling like eating or sleeping), lasting for weeks at a time.

Kardashian West continued that she understands her husband is subject to criticism due to his career in the public eye but defended him, saying 'his words some times do not align with his intentions' and explained how his condition can affect him.

'He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a Black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder... Living with bipolar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and his creative ideas.'

Kardashian West ended her statement by asking people who talk about 'giving grace to the issue of mental health' do the same for her husband.
