Kieron Dyer in hospital and 'undertaking tests'

Kieron Dyer has been taken to hospital and is "undertaking tests".

It's not known why the former 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' star has been taken to a medical facility, but it comes after he sustained a collapsed lung during a recent appearance on 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins'.

A tweet on Ipswich Town Football Club's official Twitter account read: "The Club can confirm that Town U23 manager Kieron Dyer is currently undertaking tests in hospital.

"Everyone at Ipswich Town Football Club sends their best wishes to Kieron at this time."

Last month, Kieron pulled out of Channel 4 show 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' after he broke a rib, which punctured his lung, leaving him unable to breathe.

He said at the time: "I started screaming with the pain.

"My body shut down, my body was just breaking down and that was the end for me.

"I got taken to hospital and my broken rib had punctured my lung and it had collapsed.

"I just couldn’t breathe and then that’s when I keeled over."

Kieron admitted he felt as though he was "drowning" during the horrific experience.

He added: "I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve been that breathless before.

"You’re just gasping for air. It’s like you’re being strangled, or you’re drowning.

"At the time the medic thought maybe I was having a panic attack. But the pain I was in when they were lifting me up, he knew it was more than that. It was horrible."

The star - who played for the likes of Newcastle United, Ipswich, West Ham United, and England during his career - admitted he was "gutted" to leave the show early.

He said: "I can remember I’m cramping up, and Ant then comes in and goes, ‘The reason why you’re like this, is because you’re the only one who gives 110 per cent.’

"I don’t know if that’s a complement or me being stupid, or what! So I was gutted to have to leave."
