In last night's episode of the new series of The Kardashians, Khloé got especially candid about her struggles with body image, low self-esteem and anxiety, as the cameras followed her prepping for an appearance on The Late, Late Show with James Corden.

Speaking honestly to her best friend Malika Haqq, Khloé explained how her mental health is sometimes such a struggle, she worries about posting images on social media, and was later seen taking beta blockers to help with her issues.

Beta blockers are typically used to slow the heart down, according to the NHS, and while they can be prescribed by a professional for anxiety, they're not the most common sort of anti-depression medication.

'It's so easy for people to say, "If you don’t know them, don't pay attention",' Khloé was also seen telling Malika in the episode. 'But when you're walking down the street and even paparazzi is heckling at you the same things you're trying to avoid, it's so deteriorating on your self-esteem, your confidence, the way that you view yourself... Even when I've barely done retouching, I'm so afraid to post it because people are going to say I did this.'

Later during a confessional she added, 'I think it's gotten to the point that it's literally safer to stay at home.'

Further on in the episode, Khloé is then seen getting ready for her appearance on the talk show when mum Kris Jenner pops by to show her support, saying she wanted to come in-person due to Khloé's known anxiety struggles.

'When I heard that I didn't want to just call you and tell you, I thought I'd come down and check on you and see if you were going to be ok with your anxiety,' she says, before offering Khloe a beta blocker. 'Oh I love those,' Khloé then responds, taking the pill (to which Kris agrees, saying 'I know. They're really great!').

The scene has really divided fans, with some praising Kris for being a supportive parent, while others have said it's not right to be handing out beta blockers 'like Tic-Tacs' (just as a reminder: it is never advisable to take any sort of pill without consulting your doctor first).

Here's hoping Khloé is able to work through this and come out stronger on the other side.
