Kevin Clifton has shared his prediction of who he thinks could be lifting the glitterball trophy to victory on Strictly Come Dancing this year – comedian Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse.

The former Strictly pro, who stepped down from the series earlier this year, revealed his suggestion in a chat with fans on Instagram over the weekend.

Oti won the show last year with Emmerdale star Kevin Fletcher.

"I still think Bill's the one to beat. I think he's probably the winner," Kevin explained. "I know everyone thinks he's like a comedy novelty thing but he's actually a good dancer and he hasn't had a bad week."

Kevin was also impressed by Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo, who topped the leaderboard with dancer Aljaz Skorjanec on Saturday night after receiving a 10 from judge Shirley Ballas for their "perfect" Charleston.

"Clara was amazing tonight… I've been saying until recently that I think Clara's the winner of Strictly," he continued.

"Last week I changed my mind and said Bill's going to win, because I think Bill is gonna win, but I've been saying that Clara is due a breakout week, that she's going to have one week where she comes out [with] a high energy dance and smashes it."

He added: "It happened this week and she got two tens, top of the leaderboard, massive week for her, saw it coming, and I'm really pleased for her…

"I think it's going to be very difficult to stop Bill winning but I think Clara did a great job tonight. I also think Jamie did a really good job tonight… he's gradually got better and better… They're so much fun to watch."

Kevin left the show to concentrate on other projects including his Strictly Ballroom: The Musical tour - currently on hold due to the pandemic - and an upcoming TV production.

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood also revealed that he thinks Bill will win the competition, telling Best magazine: "Bill is one of the best contestants Strictly has ever had. He's come up with a new genre of dance – yes one I've never seen – but he could possibly win Strictly."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night, November 21, on BBC One.
