Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's son Travis shares heartfelt details of working with famous parents on new film

Any loyal fan of Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick know that for them, nothing is more important than their tight-knit family of four, even when they're working!

The couple, who have been married since 1988 and celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this year, have two kids together, both of whom work in the entertainment industry. Sosie, 31, is an actress, and most recently starred in horror movie Smile, while Travis, 33, is a musician.

Not only does Travis helm a metal band, Black Anvil – his dad also has his own band, The Bacon Brothers, with his brother, Michael Bacon – but he also works on film scores, most recently his own parents' film.

The songwriter and composer worked on Kevin and Kyra's latest feature film, Space Oddity,which was a total family affair.

Kyra herself directed the movie, while Kevin starred in it – alongside Kyle Allen, Madeline Brewer, Carrie Preston, and more – and Travis was the brains behind the music for the sci-fi fantasy film.

Travis took to Instagram shortly after the film's release, and expressed his gratitude over being able to collaborate with his parents on it, writing: "Music brings people together in exceptionally interesting ways. Check out @spaceodditymovie if you have a chance."

Though the film was only just released to the general public, HELLO! had the opportunity to attend the premiere of Space Oddity at the Tribeca Festival in June, and Kevin spoke exclusively to us about his relationship with his son, working with him, and what the two bond over.

"We've collaborated on amazing stuff because I'm a musician too," he said, adding of his kids: "They support us and we support them. We all work together in different kinds of capacities." He previously also directed his daughter on 2005's Loverboy, which has Kyra as its lead.

The musician gave the heartfelt explanation that: "We like to work together, we don't do it just because it's family, we do it because we like the work, the creative process."

He also opened up about what it's like to be directed by his own wife: "I loved being directed by my wife… She's a fantastic director. She has a very clear vision both with the way things look and feel," and that what makes him the proudest is when she gives him tips and tweaks.
