Kerry Washington's blazer and skirt co-ord is giving high-fashion Olivia Pope in NYC
It may be 5 years now since Scandal ended, the iconic TV show starring Kerry Washington and created by Shonda Rhimes (of Bridgerton and Inventing Anna fame), but that doesn't mean we've stopped thinking about Olivia Pope's super polished, neutrals-only style. From her power blazers and wide-leg trousers to the tailored coats and she-means-business handbags, it's the workwear wardrobe we dream of rocking up to the office in. If only...
But since saying goodbye to the iconic character who specialised in "fixing" political situations and scandals with effortless style, Kerry Washington has been making plenty of fashion waves off screen. And maybe even taking a little inspiration from Olivia Pope too.
Sharing photos of her latest lewk on Instagram, Kerry can be seen sporting a Thom Browne skirt suit. It's safe to say we are obsessed with this look, check it out for yourself:
Kerry's fit consisted of a cropped button-down white collared shirt worn underneath a navy blue paisley printed blazer and a matching midi-length pleated skirt, interspersed with grey striped fabric in the alternating pleated panels. She added black tights and black pointed-court shoes with a co-ordinating black briefcase-style bag. Fendi sunglasses finished the look.
Posing in the middle of a street in New York city, her look literally stopped traffic. (Or it would have done, had there been any cars on the road.) From the smart outfit, to the professional accessories, and with her hair pulled back in a slick ponytail, Kerry certainly looked like she meant business. And while it's a little edgier than the 'fits Olivia Pope usually served, we don't think it's too far a leap from the character's style.
Fans were clearly loving Kerry's style too, taking to the comments to make reference to the tv show and remark on her outfit, writing:

It's not the first time Kerry was worn an Olivia-worthy outfit. Sharing a video of herself dancing with her glam team a few weeks ago, she was dressed in a Moschino red double-breasted blazer with gold heart buttons and co-ordinating slim-fit trousers that featured slits at each ankle.
We feel a series rewatch coming on, if only to take notes on all of Olivia Pope's outfits.
