Kendall and Kylie Jenner accused of cultural appropriation for 'Chinese takeout' handbag

It seems like wherever the Jenner sisters go, drama follows. The duo is now embroiled in a new controversy over an accessory in the latest collection from their clothing line, Kendall + Kylie.

The sisters recently released “Drop Three,” a limited-edition collection available at Saks Fifth Avenue — and among the clothes and accessories is the “Lee Leather Clutch,” which looks like a Chinese takeout box.

The handbag is also emblazoned with a red tiger and the words “KK Express Los Angeles.” Critics called out the duo for cultural appropriation.

Some people also noted that the clutch the sisters are selling looks suspiciously similar to Kate Spade’s “Hello Shanghai Cruz” bag from that label’s Fall 2014 collection.

The Lee leather clutch has been pulled from both the Kendall + Kylie site and Saks Fifth Avenue. However, this isn’t the first time the Jenner sisters have been accused of cultural appropriation. Just last month, the reality stars were slammed for a now-deleted Instagram post that appeared to rip off Chola culture. The sisters were also accused of stealing the likenesses of musicians and rappers when they released shirts with images of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac — to name a few — and sold the “vintage shirts” at $125 a pop.

“I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this,” wrote Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, in an Instagram post. “The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!”

What do you think of Kendall and Kylie’s “Lee Leather Clutch”?
