Kendall Jenner has been sued for allegedly breaching a contract by Italian designers, Liu Jo.

According to Reuters, the designers filed the lawsuit in Manhattan on Wednesday August 4. In their complaint, Liu Jo claims they hired Jenner in 2019 for two photoshoots for their collection, but that she only completed one. The second photoshoot was originally scheduled for March 2020 but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions.

Liu Jo claims they have already paid $1.35 million to Jenner - who was named the world's highest-paid model in 2018 by Forbes - and alleges they have tried to reschedule the second photoshoot on multiple occasions with no response from the 25-year-old model. The company also said they had tried, without success, to obtain a refund from Jenner and are seeking $1.8 million (£1.3m) in damages.

Jenner's model management agency The Society Management has responded to the lawsuit, telling E! News it is 'without merit'.

'The Society Management, on behalf of Ms. Kendall Jenner, has continually offered Liu Jo alternative dates and locations to fulfil an agreement that was forced to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic... Jenner has willingly offered to complete services honouring her commitments.'

The entertainment news outlet reports that Liu Jo also accused Jenner of failing to travel to Italy for the second photo shoot, but that she allegedly did travel to the European country a month prior to work with a different designer. After issuing correspondence to Jenner saying she was in breach of her contract, the model reportedly denied this saying it was 'impossible' to travel to Italy at the time, in October, for the rescheduled shoot.

Liu Jo say they are seeking the amount ($1.8m) to cover the refunded costs paid to Jenner and for damages owing to 'replacement models' and a restructure of its SS21 campaign 'at great expense to Liu Jo due to Ms. Jenner's refusal to uphold her end of the bargain.'

Jenner herself has not responded to the lawsuit.
