Kelly Rowland Said Meghan Markle Was “Royal Before She Was in That Family”
The two met for the first time at Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour.
Kelly Rowland may have just met Meghan Markle at Beyoncé's Los Angeles Renaissance World Tour shows in September, but the Destiny's Child alum says the two instantly bonded over their commonalities, like marriage, motherhood, and fame.
Markle and Rowland were among the many, many stars in attendance at Bey's birthday shows (others being Kim Kardashian, Adele, Zendaya, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Lizzo, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, and Kendall Jenner — just to name a few) and were spotted mingling alongside Kerry Washington. While the trio broke the internet with their friendship debut, Rowland revealed to Hello! Magazine in a recent interview that this was the first time she met the royal.
"It was just nice being there with other great women and being able to just simply talk," she said, most likely referring to their mutual interests including their kids. Rowland shares two sons, Titan and Noah, with her husband Tim Weatherspoon, who she wed in 2014. The duchess and Prince Harry, of course, share their son Archie and daughter Lilibet.

Rowland added that the former royal was "very down to earth."
"I don't know what people expect to see or to know, but she just felt very cool and very down to earth. She is very warm," she continued. "She was royal before she was in that family. I think that we are royalty before anything. And we have to hold ourselves in that regard as humans, as people."
Markle and Rowland attended the third night of the residency, where they were photographed enjoying the concert's festivities. Markle also attended a one of the other nights with her husband, Prince Harry, mother Doria Ragland, and friend and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
