Kelly Ripa says that she and Carol Brady have something in common.

On Wednesday's episode of Live with Kelly & Mark, Ripa, 53, told her husband and cohost Mark Consuelos, 52, that she always regrets cutting her hair short when she goes to the salon. She added that she has never been great at doing her hair herself. (For proof, she said to look at photos of her from high school.)

"Yes, I want to get a haircut until I get the haircut," said Ripa, who has previously cut her hair in a bob. "Because once I get the haircut ,then I have to maintain the haircut. And when your hair is this length, this is a good ponytail length. So, like, when I come to work, my hair is done for me and it looks nice."

Ripa went on to explain how her fear of cutting her hair stemmed from the time Consuelos encouraged her to get a Michelle Pfeiffer bob-like haircut a few years back.

"It ended up looking like Carol Brady, and I just didn’t understand how it happened," Consuelos tells Ripa. "I was like, ‘Wait, what happened, I saw Michelle Pfeiffer five minutes ago! Now it’s Carol Brady!’ So now when you ask me, I say, ‘Babe, do what you want to do. Just do what you want to do.’ "

Ripa added: "No, that’s not what you say. What he says is, 'Do what you want to do, but just know that you’re going to be miserable as soon as you cut your hair off.’ That’s what you say. So that discourages me."

Also on today's Live, Ripa shared her thoughts on the new "flippy bob" haircut trend in Hollywood, which she says is a cross between a pixie cut and a bob. "They’re calling it a bixie cut," she says. "All of the women look adorable."

Although Ripa said that she's a fan of the short haircut, she has a few thoughts on how hairstylists are promoting it.

"First of all, they never use anyone over the age of 20 for any of these," she says holding up a picture of a woman rocking the haircut. "So look how cute she looks. Fashiony, beautiful gorgeous. Gorgeous, amazing,"

"Well, what I want them to show me is the picture of these women out in the wild, on their own, not under the aid of a hairstylist after they’ve woken up in the morning and show me what the hair looks like. Show me what the hair looks like after it’s taken the shape of the pillow and the bed sheet. Or the hat — it’s cold now."
