Kelli Giddish pregnant with third child, her first with husband Beau Richards

Congratulations are in order for Law & Order: SVU star Kelli Giddish, who is expecting her third baby!

The actress, who left the beloved NBC police procedural after season 24 (her twelfth) earlier this year, is pregnant with her first child with her husband Beau Richards, who she married in 2021.

She shares two other kids, sons Ludo, seven, and Charlie, four, with her ex-husband Lawrence Faulborn, who she was married to from 2015 until 2018.

People confirmed her pregnancy after New York Fashion Week creator and fashion industry mainstay Fern Mallis shared a photo from Memorial Day Weekend on Instagram on Tuesday, where she is seen posing next to "a very pregnant" Kelli.

Fans had also already speculated the actress, 43, was pregnant after her Law & Order character, Amanda Rollins, made an appearance with a baby bump on an episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime earlier this month.

In pictures taken on the set in New York City from as far back as April 17, Kelli is seen with a large bump, and in one shot, her co-star and off-screen good friend Mariska Hargitay is seen cradling her belly as both smile ear-to-ear.

Her previous two pregnancies were also written into the show. Her last appearance on SVU was on the ninth episode of the 24th season, "And A Trauma In A Pear Tree," which aired on December 8, 2022, and saw her character tie the knot to Peter Scanavino's character, A.D.A Sonny Carisi.

Her first pregnancy with son Ludo marked the first time a cast member's pregnancy had been written into the show, and she previously opened up about the process to E! News in 2015.

She explained that while many shows find a way to temporarily write out the characters (Gillian Anderson on X Files,Zooey Deschanel on New Girl), she didn't want the same for Rollins, and told the outlet at the time: "I feel so comfortable in their hands," referring to the show's writers.

When she left SVU in late 2022, she fittingly told Variety: "I am so excited about things going on in my personal life and kind of the mirroring of what's going on in my personal life and in Rollins', there's a lot of joy to be experienced."

Praising her time on the show, which she joined in 2011, she added: "This is a show unlike any other. Shows don't last 12 years, much less getting to play a character. With playing someone as multifaceted as Rollins, I got to play all kinds of different things – down and out, on top, joyful, doubtful, scared, triumphant. I got to do the gambit."
