Great news for Keeley Hawes fans (let’s be honest, who isn’t?) - a release date has been announced for her latest film project: new film To Olivia is set for release in February 2021.

It follows the inspiring real-life story of author Roald Dahl and his wife Patricia Neal, behind the glitz and glamour of their world, and how heartache shaped them. Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville stars as Dahl, while Keeley plays his wife, glamorous American actress Patricia Neal.

To Olivia: What's it about?

The film is set in 1962, when the prolific children’s author and his wife have decamped to the British countryside to bring up their growing young family. But then tragedy strikes: their lives are thrown into turmoil and disarray when their eldest daughter Olivia dies at just seven years of age.

As the couple struggles through the devastation, they find that their shared grief brings redemption, and their lives are changed forever. It’s set to a heartwarming and inspiring tale.

Sam Heughan (Outlander), Geoffrey Palmer (Paddington) and Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones) also star.

On the eve of the release of her ITV drama Honour earlier this year, Keeley told Red magazine that she struggled with self criticism. But helpfully, she’d found the power to switch off from expectation after starring in runaway successes like Line Of Duty, The Durrells and Bodyguard.

“With Honour, the reception will be what it will be,” she explained. We all worked really hard on it, and that’s all you can do. Then, you have to relax. I’m not very good at that, but what can you do?

“You can beat yourself up about it, but I want to make shows and I will make mistakes – everybody does. Not everything is a Bodyguard. Not everything is a Killing Eve. It just isn’t. I have to be gentle on myself.”

To Olivia will be released in cinemas and on Sky Cinema in February 2021.
