Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones has hit back at claims she threw a "tantrum" after she and Adam Peaty were voted off the show during last week's results [7th November.]

Adam and Katya first made headlines during this year's Strictly thanks to their "almost kiss" at the end of their Argentine Tango. They eventually left the competition after scoring 27 points for their Jive, and losing the dance off to Tilly Ramsay and partner Nikita Kuzmin.

A source later told The Sun the professional dancer was "furious" with the result, and threatened to quit her role on the show over theories that the public have it in for her.

"There was a tantrum backstage when she found herself in the dance-off and she was again saying it was because the public have it in for her," the insider said. "There was talk of quitting the show but no one wants her to do that.

"Both Katya and Adam were in tears after a week in which they'd thrown their all into getting the routine right.

"And though it hadn't gone perfectly, both of them were shocked at being at the bottom of the scoreboard and finding themselves in the dance off after the public vote. So getting shown the door on Sunday was utterly devastating."

Since then, though, a source at Strictly has categorically denied any "tantrum", while Katya has also rubbished the rumours. A spokesperson said: "This is completely and categorically untrue. Strictly means everything to Katya and she looks forward to many more years there."

The dancer also took to Twitter to shut down the rumours. In a series of tweets, she wrote:

"...Keep printing lies about me with no regard for the truth. There are a lot more important things going on in the world that should be making front page news. Good job I’m a tough cookie because these toxic lies are a lot for one person to take and can have consequences.

"I am a professional dancer on a TV show doing my job which I care passionately about. I’m not quitting, I’ve not had a tantrum. I love the show and I shall keep dancing."

Kudos to Katya for speaking out and putting the rumours to bed.
