Katie Price has slammed the lack of Covid-19 safety checks at London's Heathrow Airport.

The reality TV star and her fiance Carl Woods flew to Portugal last week for a whirlwind holiday after the country was placed on the government's green list, meaning people can visit without having to quarantine when they return, however, travellers are expected to produce a negative test before their flight and then a PCR test two days after getting back.

The 43-year-old filmed herself going through Heathrow Airport and claimed that she wasn't asked for proof of a negative test and her bags were mixed with those from a country on the amber list.

"All the measures that are supposed to be in place, don't exist," she said, reports The Sun. "They didn't ask to see our PCR test when we landed."

As they picked up their luggage, Katie noticed that bags from a flight from Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, was also on the same carousel.

"If you look on that list some of those place are on the amber list and they are due to come in this hall where we are now which means we are going to cross paths and some of them need to quarantine," she told viewers. "Bags are on the same carousel as Abuja - how mad is that?"

Addressing Katie's claims in a statement, a government spokesperson said, "Protecting public health is our priority and as we reopen international travel safely we will maintain 100 per cent health checks at the border to protect the wider public and our vaccine roll-out.

"We have automated processes in place to ensure 100 per cent checks are completed, which passengers will only become aware of if they have filled the form out incorrectly. These checks were fully functional at the time of interaction with Ms Price, meaning full checks were conducted on her arrival."
